Tap Collection Mixes Minimalism with Elegance

HULL, UNITED KINGDOM – Ideal Standard, a leading provider of innovative, design-driven bathroom solutions, has launched Melange, a new range of brassware created by award-winning design house ArteFaktAchim Pohl and Thomas Fiegl founded Artefakt industriekultur in 1989. In collaboration with the international industry the ten man design team develops product lines based on a philosophy of simplicity, sensuality and constancy. This has been the basis for the success of their multiple awarded product developments.

The new range offers retailers the opportunity to exploit the emerging trend for soft minimalist brassware with a classic design that is timeless in its appeal. The Melange range has been designed to offer consumers a complete bathroom and shower solution that can be adapted to suit their own style tastes, boasting a huge choice of 14 easy-fit pieces, which include a selection of single lever monoblock basin and bidet mixers (with three hole vessel and wall mounted options), rim mounted bath and bath/shower mixers and exposed showers.

The Ideal Standard reputation for advanced technology and precision engineering is underlined in the Melange range, which includes the innovative Cool Wall feature for guaranteed safe bathing and showering.   Ideal Standard is at the forefront of the development of these safe bathing features that are so important for the whole family, especially children, the elderly or those who may lack tactile sensitivity and cannot tell when a tap gets too hot. The Melange basin mixer is the first from Ideal Standard featuring the highly efficient, patented Multi-port cartridge with integrated ‘ClickCLICK technology. The single lever basin mixer and bidet mixer incorporate a CLICK feature that encourages water saving – the user lifts the handle until they feel a slight resistance. This resistance informs the user that the fitting is delivering only 50% of its maximum flow potential. Lifting the handle further enables the fitting to deliver maximum flow. CLICK technology is available on Idyll Two, Ceramix, Ceraplan and Melange.' cartridge water saving technology which will resonate with consumers who are increasingly concerned with sustainability and the environment.

Commenting on this new range, Colin Sinclair, Showering and Brassware Channel Marketing Manager for Ideal Standard says, "In its combination of design excellence and technical innovation, the Melange range meets exactly the growing demand for single lever and monobloc taps from consumers, for whom style and function are major influences when considering a tap purchase."

Ideal Standard is supporting the launch of the new Melange range with a variety of marketing material to enable retailers to capitalise on sales. The support material includes a range of POS, displays, and brochures, as well as a new electronic ‘Tool Box' which will give the retailer everything needed to communicate and promote the new range. Melange, by Ideal Standard, is a competitively priced, mid-premium range of bathroom fittings designed to achieve higher value sales and increase customer margin opportunity.
